I’m definitely stronger than I thought… I really never thought the Hunger Strike (ok, ok, restaurant strike) would last this long and I think in the back of my mind I truly thought that I’d cheat if needed.
In a little over 2 weeks I haven’t eaten out once. My original intent was just no lunches out but I’ve managed to not eat out at all yet. Now I never intended for this strike to negatively impact Cory so we may end up going out to eat some night but right now I think he’s loving the idea that I’m actually cooking real meals! My first kinda “cheat” is going to be the annual Trinity Lutheran Church Turkey Supper tonight in Ellsworth. Now this is a big deal folks. Happens every year about this time and its the best darn food ever!! I always stand in line starting at 4:30, get my carry out suppers and enjoy a night of not cooking. How do I justify this cheating… it’s not lunch out it”s carry out and its for a good cause… right?
I just want to say that I really appreciate all of your support and I’ve heard lots of great words of encouragement from all who are reading this blog (by the way I could use more readers… hint, hint, get your friends to read this stuff too!). Several people have asked what will happen when the strike ends? That’s a good question. First I’m going out for lunch… at least once but then I think some changes are in store.
I do have an offer out right now that we are negotiating… keep your fingers crossed for me and the buyers that this strike is officially over soon!
