After 10 days of not eating out I’m getting a little tired of PB&J and Mac & cheese. It’s not that I can’t cook, I kinda like to cook. But with Cory and I’s schedules its hard to plan meals. There’s also the fact that I married a pure meat & potatoes type of guy, he’s not real excited about trying new things. So today I set out to make something wonderful for lunch, something different…something to take my mind off not eating out.
one package frozen tortellini (cheese filled), cooked
two containers Philadelphia Savory Cooking Sauce (I used one garlic & one Italian)
one pound of Italian sausage, browned & drained
one can of diced tomatoes with onion
2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
It only took me about 15 minutes start to finish and I have to admit it turned out very good. Great mix of flavors, nice and rich and plenty for left overs the next few days. But it also got me thinking about my business. I mean after all this hunger strike (reminder: it’s actually a restaurant strike) is caused by my business.
What I learned (or suspect actually) is that I need to get creative, get out of my comfort zone and do something different – not just with lunch, but with my business. Or maybe a lot of things differently. I’ve got some ideas and don’t want to give them all away right now but watch for some “creative” ideas coming soon!
